Stock Clutch Photo 3First, I wanted to wish each of you a very Happy New Year!  I hope that each of you had a beautiful holiday season, and wish you a wonderful 2018!

Just before Christmas, as I was sorting through various packages arriving at the front door (I admittedly do most, if not all, of my Christmas gift shopping online), I was beyond excited to see that my Winter 2017 Rachel Zoe Box of Style had arrived.  (Refer to my earlier blog entry for Box of Style details if you are not familiar!)  As usual, the packaging of the box is gorgeous, featuring the ever-chic color combo of black and gold (one of my all-time faves), and like other boxes includes a small magazine describing Ms. Zoe’s inspiration behind the box and items.  The Winter 2017 box is inspired by “the most glamorous season of the year”, and is filled with “carefully selected luxurious accessories to make every outfit, day or night, that much chicer.”  Being a self-proclaimed fashion accessory junkie, I knew I was going to LOVE everything even before I tore into the gorgeous gold tissue paper!

And…surprise, surprise, Ms. Zoe and her awesome team did not disappoint!!!

The first item, appropriately named “The Day to Night” by the Zoe Team, is the Rachel Zoe for Box of Style Box Clutch.  I am SUPER excited about the clutch, as despite my endless love for all things handbags, and despite considering MANY, I have never bought a minaudière!  (While many designers offer their own, and I love the sleek, art deco look of them, I have always hesitated due to the small size and fear of inability to pack my night out essentials – phone (sorry not sorry!), card case, and lipstick and gloss.)  Ms. Zoe’s version measures approximately 4 x 7 inches with depth of 2 inches, and easily fit my iPhone 7 Plus (with the case on), card case, lipstick and gloss, and even a rollerball!  The box bag can be worn as a clutch or over the shoulder as a removable chain strap is included, and features a warm-gold metal frame and snap closure.  Box of Style subscribers were able to select their preferred color, black or pearl white…while both colors are clearly super versatile, I chose pearl white because I admittedly have no shortage of black evening bags.  (I included a photo of the black version below for reference.)

I of course had to use the box ASAP, and my review after its virgin evening out…OBSESSED!

The next item, which I am completely jazzed about as Florida is currently experiencing our first legitimate cold front of the season (and I mean COLD!), is the Unreal Fur Faux Fur Stole, or “The Unreal Upgrade” per Ms. Zoe.  (I am sorry, I have to say it again…I LOVE HER ha ha!)  Full disclaimer, I am a lover of all things faux fur, and look forward to brisk Florida weather to wear it…including faux fur jackets, vests, and scarves.  That being said, this is actually a perfect addition to my cold weather closet, as I find it to be more versatile, in terms of how to style, than my other go-to scarves.  Like most others, the stole looks fab kept open (think thrown over your collar or coat), but is also easily worn looped in order to provide more warmth.  (My favorite faux fur scarf (or maybe it will be my “old” favorite now!), is a beautiful navy and feels super luxurious, but it is “larger” or “bulkier” and truly looks best worn open or “unlooped” - I included of both stoles together for comparison purposes.)  And, this stole absolutely fits into my faux fur styling theory…SO versatile, as items can be worn with a super formal cocktail dress OR with oversized cozy sweaters, and look equally stylish and fashionable with both.  If you have always hesitated to rock faux fur, for what it is worth I say absolutely go for it with both your glam and casual looks!

Along the same lines of versatile accessories, in terms of day to night / glam to casual wear, the next item I opened are the House of Harlow 1960 Mesa Door Knocker Earrings, dubbed “The Total Knockout” by Rachel.  If you are not familiar, House of Harlow 1960 is a clothing, jewelry, and accessories line designed and curated by Nicole Richie.  Originally launched as a jewelry line in 2007 and later expanding to include ready-to-wear and other accessories, the label is now available via its own site as well as several quintessential fashion retailers, including Nordstrom, Shopbop, REVOLVE, and others.  (As a quick FYI for any fellow REVOLVE shoppers, House of Harlow launched an exclusive collection with REVOLVE in 2016, and!)  If you are not familiar with the House of Harlow 1960, I just have to recommend taking a quick look when you have a moment!

Getting back to the matter at hand, the Mesa Door Knocker Earrings are the Zoe Report’s version of the ultimate pair of dangle/drop earrings, designed to be able to easily work into any look for that “extra dose” of sparkle.  As admitted above (and elsewhere in this blog), I am an accessory junkie, and sparkly, fun costume jewelry just might be my favorite accessory category (next to handbags…and sunglasses…OK, never mind…ha ha!).  The earrings are lined with small rhinestones and an elegant gold-plated border, and are completely on trend with the popular geometric jewelry trend that has been hot for several seasons.  I absolutely LOVE them, and will no doubt wear them with both casual and dressy looks.  (Pairing “dressy”, or sparkly costume jewelry with uber casual outfits, think classic white t-shirt and denim, is one of my FAVORITE looks.)  And, as you are likely wondering, the earrings are actually not overly heavy and completely wearable!  (Aside, for those earrings in your jewelry box that you absolutely love but rarely wear due to the weight, check out the Kendra Scott Lobe Wonder Earring Support Patches…they are amazing and have been a complete life saver, not to mention completely affordable - $10 for a box of sixty patches!)

The next item is the TARTE Sex Kitten Liquid Liner, or, according to the always stylish team at Rachel Zoe – “The Fine Line”.  While I am a long-time fan of TARTE, the only TARTE products I have are lipstick and highlighter, so this product is new to me.  Personally, I am always a bit hesitant to try new liquid liners, with my fears being a dull tip (making it difficult to apply or resulting in either skipping or drag) or products that take too long to dry.  After playing with it and attempting a few different looks, I can verify TARTE’s claim that the product really is “goofproof” (and that is coming from a true makeup amateur).  The applicator is a super skinny felt tip, making it easy to ensure you are applying in a steady stream, and the liner really is quick-dry!  I know that some of us prefer waterproof liner, and some of us do not, so it is important to know that the Sex Kitten Liquid Liner is definitely waterproof; however, I was able to remove it easily with a basic cleansing milk.  So, my initial impression is super favorable!  (In looking quickly at online reviews at both Sephora and ULTA, it seems to be a favorite among many!)

Next, I unwrapped OSEA Essential Hydrating Oil, or, “The Miracle Worker”, which is a botanical oil designed to provide hydration to the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (Count Me In – ha ha!).  (OSEA Malibu (Ocean. Sun. Earth. Atmosphere.) is a luxury natural skincare line dedicated to using only organic materials free of toxic, synthetic ingredients.)  The Essential Hydrating Oil, a blend of lavender, rosewood, and geranium essential oils, is designed for morning and evening use on the face and neck.  Given the brutal winter conditions many are experiencing right now (and that includes Florida, kind of…), most of us could likely afford a boost of hydration, so the timing of this product is perfect.  This product is new to me, so I am only a week into use, but so far I am pleased – not heavy at all, leaves skin super soft, and smells AMAZING.

As I unwrapped the next item expecting to find a cool book about style, or perhaps motivation for 2018 (either of which would have been awesome!), I found something even better…The Agenda by Sugar Paper.  OMG!  While I embrace all things digital and will not deny that I am, um, never without my cell phone, or Kindle (the new Paperwhite Kindle is fabulous, btw!) and sometimes even iPad, I am still an old school handwritten “list maker” and even use a hard copy daily planner instead of my phone calendar!  “The Pencil-It-In” agenda is of course super chic in black and gold (we addressed my black and gold obsession earlier), and includes weekly and monthly layouts, a section to track birthdays and thank you notes, note pages, and a catch-all pocket.  It is a perfectly portable size (approximately 7.25 x 8 inches), which is a huge plus given most of us are always on the go.  And, the agenda features a super unique detail – each monthly tab includes a motivating quote from women Rachel admires, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Diane von Furstenberg, Meryl Streep, and others.  As you can see, five stars from me for Sugar Paper’s The Agenda…I actually transferred all information from the 2018 agenda I purchased in early November (and I love that one too)!

(BTW, because I was not familiar with Sugar Paper and completely love stationary, I quickly checked out the brand’s website…and their products are beautiful!  The brand was launched in 2003 by close friends and graphic designers Chelsea Shukov and Jamie Grobecker, and since then has been featured in VOGUE, InStyle, Vanity Fair and other major publications, as well as gaining a celebrity following.  At first glance, their products are simple yet incredibly elegant and distinctive.  Not sure where I have been – perhaps just married to my go-to stationary lines – but I have recommend checking out Sugar Paper if you are not already familiar with it…perfectly giftable to yourself or others!)

OK, so, now I am wondering to myself – Did I like the Fall or Winter Box of Style box better?  Well, despite my love for my Fall items (all of which are in my various rotations!), I think Winter 2017 is pulling ahead!  That being said, does anyone know when the Spring 2017 Rachel Zoe Box of Style will be arriving?

As always, thank you for being here!

Whether you are headed to the in-laws’ home, the parents of a significant other, your BFF’s house, or just hitting the party circuit, it’s always a classy move to bring a little something for the hostess.  I love bringing the hostess a small token of appreciation to acknowledge the time and energy she invested in planning the gathering, given I believe most of us find the Holiday Season to be a busy time, like bananas busy!  Plus, being the resident “gift-purchaser” for both clients and several members of my family, I love shopping for chic (of course!), thoughtful gifts, with people’s personality and interests in mind.
(Disclosure, although relatively common, bringing the hostess their favorite wine or champagne is always gracious and appropriate …we all have those Rose all Day gals in our life!  If guests are bringing a bottle to share at the party, I do like to bring the hostess her own with a little note attached indicating for her to enjoy herself…later!)
For the Girl Who Loves Her Home…
First, one of my absolute favorite go-to hostess gifts, especially for the gal who loves pretty things for her home, is a fabulous coffee table book!  I believe this is a universally-loved gift, as it can add interest and beauty to ones’ living space, help the millennials in your life feel like they are truly adulting, spark interesting conversations among guests, and of course offer beautiful photos of things of interest.  A few that I have given or received, and LOVE, are below – The Fashion Book (dubbed “the Fashion Bible” by Vogue Magazine), Behind the Runway (amazing photography and serious eye candy), The One Hundred (a fun insight into pieces every woman should own from acclaimed fashion editor Nina Garcia), The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up (NYT-best-selling guide to decluttering that has reached cult status in recent years), and of course, The French Laundry Cookbook (celebrating the acclaimed Napa Valley restaurant, and the classiest, most beautiful cookbook around in my opinion).  Obviously, the options are endless depending on the recipients’ interests.  And, as an added bonus, you can usually score the perfect coffee table book via Amazon…quickly…for all my fellow Prime addicts out there!
Books Photo 1 copy
Another one of my all-time favorite places for purchasing unique gifts for the home is Minted.  Minted is a website selling unique and beautiful pieces from independent artists around the world, primarily in the areas of art, stationary and home décor.  I can get lost on the site for hours at a time!  Many items on the site are able to be personalized (i.e., size, matting, frame design, etc.), so gifts are truly special.  I particularly love the foil-pressed art, and have both received and given gold foil-pressed art gifts, which are so gorgeous and sparkly!  (Gold foil Florida print pictured below.)  So, for any lady who loves unique art that she most likely has not seen before, I highly recommend Minted!  (PS – Minted allows you to design your own cards as well…some VERY cool ideas there!)
One more quick idea for the gal who loves home décor is a stunning and stylish catch-all tray or trinket box.  (Anyone following my blog knows I am obsessed with both!)  These can be placed pretty much anywhere throughout the home, and in addition to adding a touch of glam they are useful in keeping track of small, random items.  My favorite place to find both is Z Gallerie, where they have a variety of designs and colors suitable for a range of décor styles, with many being adorned with fab adornments.  Z Gallerie’s Annabelle Box is below; the Mia Box and Geo Box are available online / in-store, which are also perfect options.
Homegoods Photo 1 copy
For the Girl Who Loves to Entertain…
For our girlfriends who love to host, whether that be large gatherings or smaller more intimate dinners, my first stop for hostess gifts is often Nambé, a Santa Fe-based tabletop and décor company.  Nambé offers a collection of serverware, barware, décor and gift items, created via collaboration with designers from around the world.  If you are not familiar with the line, a variety of pieces are offered in mediums like alloy, wood, crystal, stainless steel and others…and the designs are AMAZING!  The line is sold in some retail stores, but the website makes gift shopping super easy by offering ideas based on price, occasion and interest.  As a bonus, the products are packaged beautifully, adding some serious WOW factor to an already beautiful gift.  While the Nambé options for the consummate Entertainer are many, I have gifted the serving set pictured below on more than one occasion.
Next, I urge you to never underestimate the power of gifting a hostess a fabulous serving tray!  I find these are always appreciated, enjoyed and USED.  My favorite place to find modern and original trays is Crate & Barrel.  It seems they are always offering new designs, and in reviewing what is available online I would venture to say that most (if not all!) décor styles are represented, making selecting a gift simple and more importantly, quick.  (Remember, serving trays are a perfect gift even for those gals who might not consider themselves too talented in the kitchen…like yours truly!  Even I can handle creating a gorgeous cheese platter!)  Two styles I love are glass slab and slate, but depending on the recipient, tons of other options are ALWAYS available.  (By the way, I believe coasters and small appetizer plates to be universally perfect gifts as well!)

For the Girl Who Loves to Pamper…
After watching the IMMENSE amount of time and effort a girlfriend of mine made in planning a large, extravagant and beautiful Thanksgiving dinner year after year, I strayed from the more “usual” themes of hostess gifts and bought her a luxurious collection of bubble bath!  Although it may seem random, I decided that she needed something for herself, and certainly deserved it after showing so many of us such a wonderful holiday.  (I always attach a little note telling them to indulge in these gifts after their fabulous fete!)  This particular girlfriend was a Laura Mercier lover, and she absolutely raved about the Laura Mercier bath products, so she received a variety of their honey bath products.  The line is available at many retailers, but I have always purchased mine at either Nordstrom or Sephora.  (Eventually I had to try them myself (shocker, I know!), and my favorites were the Fresh Fig, Crème Brûlée and Almond Coconut…DIVINE!)
Another quick and easy idea for the lovely hostess and beauty lover, especially at this time of year, is one of Sephora’s makeup, hair, skin or fragrance gift sets / boxes.  These boxes are carefully curated by Sephora based on best-sellers and “favorites”, and usually contain a selection of both full and sample size products.  The Holiday 2017 offerings seemed almost endless when I recently visited to pick up a few stocking stuffers, and I found even more awesome options online!  Two I purchased for others this year are the Buxom Purrfectly Plumping lip collection and the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip set.  (What girl does not love some shimmer and shine, or a PERFECT nude lip for that matter!?!?)  So, by selecting a set based on their favorite brands, products or beauty regimen, I think that although arguably somewhat unconventional, I firmly believe this is a seriously underrated hostess gift idea!
While my post is long, I focused on offering ideas that I know are both easily accessible and available, literally, via a few minutes on the Internet!  (If you have to read later, see photos and highlighted websites!)  I know there have been party-heavy seasons in the past where I find myself with serious hostess gift fatigue, so I hope these ideas either inspired you and/or assured you that the idea you originally had is a fabulous one!  (Note, I think all of these are awesome gifts for virtually any occasion…not just hostess gifts!)  As always, thank you for being here, and I will talk to you soon!

With Halloween having come and gone, I think we can officially say the 2017 Holiday Season is upon us! I will admit it, I am excited! (I think my love for the Thanksgiving and Christmas / Hanukkah season began during childhood growing up in the cold, snowy winters of Wisconsin…snowy Christmas mornings were beautiful and the absolute best!) However we feel about the approaching holidays, it is safe to say that many of us are well into our various holiday preparations – Thanksgiving menus, planning holiday parties (and holiday party outfits!), decorating the home, and diving into gift shopping. With all of that, we often find ourselves busy and stressed, so anything that can simplify the season is a good idea. This was exactly the reason for one of my organizational jobs this week – Organizing the Holiday Closet!

My client and I had dubbed a large closet in an extra guest bedroom as the “Holiday Closet”, as it is home to a large amount of holiday and celebration (birthdays, showers, etc.) gift wrapping supplies like boxes / bags, wrapping and tissue paper, and ribbon and bows, as well as any Christmas gifts purchased during the year. Given the generous size of the closet, other items are also stored there…basically the various household items we all have and occasionally need (thus have to keep!), like extra dining chairs, unhung art pieces, old family photos, etc. As you can see from the photos below, the closet had become a bit disorganized along the way, so a quick organizing session was in order!
Before 1  Before 2
Before 3  Before 4
The tools / supplies I used in working through the closet were extremely basic: large contractor bags for anything deemed garbage; my clients’ existing storage bins (always a bonus when we do not have to purchase new storage containers!); and my handle label maker…pretty simple right!?! While the job initially appeared quite daunting, and even had my client apologizing to me (by the way no one should EVER feel the need to apologize for a disorganized space!), once we dug in it was easy to make quick decisions (toss vs. keep) and the process moved right along. After removing most of the items from the closet, taking a quick inventory or what it was, removing any obvious items that were trash / recyclables from the workspace (good best practice!) and re-homing items that could be logically stored elsewhere, I designated specific containers for the primary category of items and got to sorting! Storage containers were labeled clearly – Xmas Gift Bags, B-Day Gift Bags, Gift Tags, Ribbons, Xmas Gifts, etc.

One thing I wanted to quickly point out, this particular closet has an extremely storage-friendly characteristic – significant space to store vertically. While it sounds simple, this is an organizing principal we sometimes miss, as we tend to notice more opportunities for space usage on the floor than toward the ceiling. While the Holiday Closet already had shelves in place, there are tons of products available to purchase and easily install (many quite affordable) in order to take advantage of any open vertical storage space throughout the home.

After 1  After 2
After 3  After 4

Upon completion, my client was pleased and even somewhat relieved…and I believe I left her with a happy husband as well! This project was another one that might have initially felt overwhelming, but just as I usually find, actually deciding to start is the biggest hurdle!

As always, thank you for being here, and enjoy the early days of the 2017 Holiday Season and I’ll talk to you soon!

Well, I knew writing about shoes would not take long, and alas, here I go! In my defense, fabulous shoes are on my mind as I have recently been helping my girlfriends finalize their outfits for the wonderful upcoming event – Wine Women & Shoes!

I was lucky enough to attend the Signature Luncheon last year, and I am sure anyone who has gone in the past will agree with me that it is a terrific event benefiting an equally terrific organization. Proceeds from the Wine Women & Shoes weekend support the Parenting Program of Forty Carrots Family Center, an agency dedicated to providing quality Parenting Education, Early Childhood Education and Child & Family Therapy. Forty Carrots has served our community for 24 years, offering services at 27 locations reaching children at the highest risk of abuse and neglect. Truly a beautiful, admirable event!

So, needless to say, shoes are on my mind. While there are amazing new collections released every season by various designers, one shoe which has demonstrated serious lasting power since its original debut in 2004 is the iconic Saint Laurent Tribute Sandal. By now, the Tribute Sandal has officially reached cult status, and are worn by celebrities, fashionistas, and tons of women alike.

If I am treating myself to a luxury fashion item, I generally prefer to indulge in items I find are not “too trendy”, as I want to be able to enjoy it for more than the current season. For me, the Tribute Sandal checks the “classic style” box, and are seriously SO versatile! I find myself grabbing them often regardless of where I am headed…they can truly be easily dressed up or down. I have paired Tributes with professional “work attire”, formal dresses, rompers and jumpsuits and jeans. (The Tributes and denim is actually one of my favorite ways to style the shoe.) And, to that point, Saint Laurent continues to release the sandals in a huge variety of colors/prints/materials. For any true Tribute collector (and I actually know some gals who are!), new designs are released every season! In my opinion, sticking with relatively neutral colors and materials – nude, black, browns and blues in patent and/or smooth leather – works best.

The sandals feature intertwining straps and an adjustable ankle strap, and are available in two heel heights. The Tribute 105 has a total heel height of 5.3 inches (sounds daunting I know!), and the Tribute 75 a total heel height of 4.1 inches. The platform height of both styles is 1.2 inches. And, we all know what a platform does…it makes your legs look SO LONG…YAY!

Next, and arguably more important, the Tribute sandal is extremely easy to walk in (and dance in!) and truly comfortable. They are definitely a true stiletto with a significant arch, but the platform makes them, surprisingly, incredibly comfortable. The first time I tried them on, I recall saying to the sales associate “OMG these are so comfy!” and his response, “So I have heard...once that shoe leaves the store we never have customers return them!” Well, I am yet to return mine, so…I get it!

I am including a few photos of a pair of my Tributes, which are the patent leather Classic Tribute Sandal in the pale pink color. I am a lover of all things nude because of the color’s versatility, and I have found this color to be just as versatile! The shoes are sold in a beautiful Saint Laurent box with a care card, individual dust bags and extra heel tips – bonus!

The shoes are available for purchase from Saint Laurent’s websites, as well as several luxury department stores. For any of you Sarasota ladies, Saks Sarasota carries the Tribute Sandal, and you may have walked right by the Saint Laurent display in the beautiful 10022-Shoe Salon when entering the store. Next time, should you have the time…take a few moments and try a few pairs on…I promise you will not be disappointed! As always, thank you for being here and talk to you soon!

I will absolutely admit, I do not always have the BEST self-control when it comes to shopping (and some may argue I am putting that lightly), but I recently realized that I am yet to subscribe to a single subscription box! As you may be aware, there are now subscription boxes catered to virtually every interest or hobby out there, from makeup to fitness, clothing, pets, sports and many more. Well, recently, perhaps in a moment of weakness, I gave into temptation and officially entered the world of subscription boxes with the Box of Style by Rachel Zoe. And…I am completely in love with my first box!

The Box of Style is described as “an expertly curated selection of fashion and beauty items by Rachel Zoe and The Zoe Report editors delivering a season of chic at your door.” Members receive four boxes throughout the year – Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer – and each box guarantees over “$400 of style obsessions”. While the subscription is not the least expensive out there, Annual Subscriptions are $349.99, the retail value of the items certainly exceeds the cost per box. (Single box purchases are also available.) I just received the Fall 2017 Box, and as you can see from my reviews below, I just might be completely hooked! (Full disclaimer, I am a huge fan of Rachel Zoe…I love her effortlessly chic style and have been a fan of her, and her clothing line, for years.)

First, the packaging of the box is gorgeous! And, each box includes a small magazine describing the items, ideas and photos on how to wear/accessorize the item, a bit of information about the designer or brand, and a note from Ms. Zoe describing her inspiration behind the box. I have included a bit of detail and photos of items in the Fall 2017 box below…I hope you love them as much as I do!

Packaging Photo 1 copy

The theme of the Fall 2017 box was a box for the busy woman looking for practical yet stylish pieces for every day, helping us to “stay chic from desk to dinner and everywhere in between”. Given that this is the time of year where children are back at school and all of their various activities, preparations for the upcoming holiday season begin, and event season here in Sarasota heats up, it seems like a pretty perfectly timed theme. The first item, named “The Multi Tasker” by the Zoe Team, is the Rachel Convertible Clutch by Gigi New York. The handbag is a beautiful navy with gold hardware, and features a convertible strap that allows for styling as both a cross-body or a clutch. I personally will get ton of use out of the bag as I am constantly trying to train myself to carry smaller bags during the day (I am the queen of large handbags!), and I also see myself carrying it in the evening as a clutch. Also, it is designed to fit most 13-inch laptops! Certainly more chic than my usual laptop bag!

Clutch Photo 2 copy Clutch Photo 3 copy

The next item, which I am completely jazzed about, is the Supershine Light Moisturizing Cream by ORIBE. I have used ORIBE products in the past and they are so luxurious! The cream is used to both maintain your blowout, as well as an alternative to leave-in conditioner. I used the cream upon returning from a color / cut / style, and my initial review is five-star, and it left my hair super soft, without adding any weight…not to mention it smells fabulous!

Oribe Photo 4 copy

The next item is from a jewelry designer I was not previously familiar with – Two Diamond Rings by LA SOULA. While they are super delicate, they are absolutely gorgeous, and can be worn in multiple ways, both as a classic fit or as a middy. The rings are based on a size 6, but completely adjustable. The small diamond embedded in the ring provides just the right amount of sparkle, and therefore can easily be styled up or down, depending on the occasion. I looked at the LA SOULA website, and her delicate designs are quite gorgeous. While it does not appear that any Sarasota-based retailers currently carry the line, you can purchase direct from the website, and both Anthropologie and Calypso St. Barth stock it as well (…dangerous!)

Next, I was delighted to open the Gold Catchall Tray by ODEME. I am completely, unequivocally obsessed with catch-all trays, and use them in several places around the house – desk, dresser, nightstand, bathroom and anywhere else I find I have small, random items that need to be contained. I use them for jewelry, go-to makeup items, keys, virtually everything! I have found super glamorous trays locally at Z Gallerie, HomeGoods, and some of our fabulous local boutiques, and will welcome the ODEME tray into my collection. The ODEME tray, while modern and chic in the gold hue, is also timeless, so will work well in most décor styles.

Moving on, the next goody, deemed “The One-Two Punch” by the Zoe team, is the Pulse Gel Color Lip & Cheek Balm by NUDESTIX. Admittedly, I have heard of NUDESTIX but have never tried their products. First impressions, the packaging is awesome, as it comes in a small tin case with a built-in mirror and sharpener. The color is, seriously, a perfect nude shade! I used it on my lips, both as the liner and color, and found it moisturizing and not the least bit sticky (a pet peeve of mine with lip colors and glosses). It provides that nude, hint of color, which is so chic for fall…I love the effortless look of that perfect nude lip. I have not yet tried it as a cheek stain, but there are raving reviews about the NUDESTIX Gel Color on the Sephora website, so I am confident it just might be a fabulous cheek stain, as well.

Makeup Photo 9 copy Makeup Photo 10 copy

The final item is another beauty item, the 3-Step Brightening + Charcoal Mask by SKINESQUE. SKINESQUE is a Korean-inspired skincare line, and are made cruelty-free using all-natural ingredients. The 3-Step Mask is a complete facial treatment comprised of a facial cleanser, hydrating essence and brightening face mask. While I have not used the treatment yet, I am particularly excited for Step 2, the Hydra + Essence, as it is designed to retain moisture and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and promote collagen formulation. I will have to update my review, as I plan to use the treatment during upcoming travels…I tend to always feel a bit haggard after traveling and know my skin is always in need of a bit of pampering!

So, as I am sure it is obvious, I am already anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Winter 2017 box! I recognize this review is long, so I appreciate that you are still with me, but I think the Box of Style is a PERFECT gift for both yourself and for that dear relative or girlfriend you find difficulty finding fabulous things for! The Winter 2017 boxes begin shipping in December…so either a single box or annual subscription just might be an ideal gift idea for the upcoming holidays…just an idea! Thank you for being here!

Like most women, I absolutely LOVE jewelry…and that includes my fashion (or “costume”) jewelry pieces worn to add that extra punch of fun, color or style to an outfit.  While certain pieces of fine jewelry are highly wearable and therefore often not taken off, fashion jewelry tends to be more specific, and therefore rotated frequently.  I have a collection of fashion jewelry I certainly love, however have often found myself guilty of rarely, if ever, wearing certain pieces because I just never saw them!  Identifying a functional, practical and visually attractive storage system of fashion pieces has historically challenged me, so I recently became determined to find a jewelry storage solution that truly worked!

Being somewhat addicted to organization, I was always meticulous and tidy with my costume jewelry, but it always entailed carefully putting each piece in the appropriate jewelry bag…and storing it somewhere I NEVER saw, and therefore, hardly wore.  In my quest, I saw tons of adorable, creative ideas on Pinterest and other sites, however the vast majority were “DIY”, and I will freely admit that I was not blessed with much (read: “not blessed with ANY”) crafting abilities…at all.  While I appreciated and admired these ideas, I knew I would not realistically sit down and re-create them.  So, I embarked on a few quick shopping trips, seeking storage solutions that were easily accessible, relatively compact, functional and protective (from tangling, etc.), and, of course, decorative, modern and chic.

First, I fell in love with these decorative, compact jewelry stands which have found a permanent home on the corner of my dresser.  They work perfectly for shorter necklaces and chokers, bracelets and cuffs, watches and even earrings.  Also, the small trays beneath the racks are perfect for cocktail rings (and those tiny earring backs which I somehow always lose)!  I love their stylish vibe and, as a bonus, they match the metallic color scheme of my other bedroom furniture.

Stand Photo 1 copy Stand Photo 2 copy

Next, I found this adorable jewelry stand, which is perfect for slightly longer necklaces.  I have placed it on one of my nightstands, but have seen similar pieces hung on the wall…it would be a perfectly chic addition to a gallery wall as well!  (Gallery walls are another of my home décor loves, as they are a fabulous way to showcase your favorite photographs, art pieces and illustrations and can really transform a room…but that is a discussion for another day!)  I love the message on this piece… “Don’t Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle!”

Inevitably, I had to find additional solutions that did not require dresser top space, and decided that storing pieces in my walk-in closet would still ensure that I see it often.  I purchased jewelry drawer inserts, and placed them side-by-side on one of the shelves inside the walk-in.  There are tons of great options / configurations available, and even some are customizable.  Mine are quite simple with equally sized compartments, but have found myself stashing tons of different types of baubles in each.  For earrings, I went with a hanging organizer…and I am actually amazed that I do not already have one!  It is wonderful!  In addition to its slim design, the pockets are sizable enough to contain virtually any size earring, and the clear design make it super simple to scan quickly and easily find what you are looking for.  (I had to buy the version shaped like an LBD, of course!  Sorry about the stock photo!)  I highly recommend for anyone who has the closet space!

I hope these pieces have given you a few easy ideas and a bit of inspiration!  I am finding myself reaching for items that I basically forgot I owned, and actually wearing the majority of my pieces.  So, happy jewelry organizing and do not forget to wear all of your favorite beautiful baubles!

Welcome to Gilded Grace Concierge!

Thank you for being here! A little bit about me…while I am not a brand new Sarasota resident, I officially relocated here in late 2016. Growing up in the Midwest, I spent many Spring Breaks visiting Siesta Key and Lido Key, but I was not an official resident until recently…and I could not be more excited about it!

While I have always considered Sarasota to be an absolute gem, actually being here full-time has secured that belief. It is a given that our beaches are amazing, but our city has tons more to offer…a beautiful downtown, an impressive arts culture, a season of epic events, super cool local shops and businesses, fabulous restaurants…and, as you know, the list goes on and on! Having lived in various cities throughout the country, I will admit that from time to time I have been guilty of not taking full advantage of the wonderful things around me, but Sarasota has inspired me to absolutely not let that happen again.

While I have some ideas that I am excited about, I cannot yet tell you exactly where this blog will go. (Disclaimer, I am a lover of fashion, shopping, and all things clothes, handbags, shoes, and accessories…so you may (no, you will) be seeing some of that from time to time!) I am lucky enough to have recently started my own business, so while I am certainly focused on that, I am almost equally excited to concentrate on fully experiencing Sarasota and the Suncoast, learning more about things I know little about, sharing some thoughts and experiences, and meeting some awesome people along the way. Again, I appreciate you stopping by…and hope that you will take this ride with me!
